Year-end Goddies

AS usual, year-end is coming. Marking the end of the modern new year and the start of a new hopes and new promises. Don't expect to achieve much of the goals, though. Isk

By the way, "Wishing all muslim readers a Happy 1430H."

As usual, by this time I received some goodies from any corporate companies that I could get hold on. Ehehe, sometimes I love my jobs.

A Planner and Business Card holder from MAA

Any takers?

Maybe I will use them. Or maybe not, since I'm an impromptu/last minutes person.

Next year, what I have heard in my field of works:
  1. Rear seat-belt is a compulsory. But whether the driver or the passengers who will received the summon for not wearing them has not been decided yet.
  2. Half-shell helmet (a.k.a German's helmet) is also banned. Only complete full head-covered (open or the full faced) are allowed.
Banned! (source: paultan.org)

Mini Gathering

SUDDEN phone call last night interrupted me from my usual habit - surfing. It is from Khalid, a friend of mine from school years.

Ah, we have a surprise visitor from Kuching. Without delay, I rushed to the food stall in Taman Harmoni just to see him. Rhyier is in town!

Rhyier, now working in UNIMAS. A Muslim convert who always laugh and smile.

Khalid, a teacher, married with a classmate of mine. Ehehe.. Dah berapa anak dah?

Mahmud, working in Sibu Hospital. Also has a class F company of his own. Congrats!

So, only four of us, we chatted with all out heart out. We were separated with our own lives since 1995. To meet them now has a welcoming feeling indeed.

With his Nikon camera, Rhyier took our picture to the max. Can't wait for him to upload the pictures into his facebook. I made a promised to him that I will visit him this coming Chinese New Year in Kuching.

Finally, I a have a good reason to be visiting there...

LomPok, returned!

LAST night, while waiting for my parents to arrived home, Lompok showed-up suddenly at the door step.

Been missing for nearly 4 months, Lompok, without any scratch on his body, nor losing any weight, just do what he normally do - meowing so loud non-stop without any reason.

Huh, welcome back, buddy!

And until now, this bugger still bugs me and my family with his meows. Isk

LoNeLy...

image taken (randomly) from http://chrizhii87.blogspot.com

TIRED of my working day today, since I have to catch-up the whole three days of work (payback for Sunday, Monday and today!). Geez... the accumulated chores at the office with the never ending workload. And what do they said?

"Cepat lor!..."

Sometimes I think that my towkey-nyior and my office-mates are blind since childbirth!

This is all happens when the unexpected becomes expected. Makes me regret to offer more helps in the future. Typical of them, once you help them do some errrans, they will force you to do the same stuff again, and again... You are a lazy bum if you don't do that. Even any holidays does not give any meaning to them. Work, work, work! Well, if no double-pay, don't expect me to turn-up! And don't bother to call on my off-day (my hand-phone seems deliberately out of batery). I deliberately forgot to charge them. Oops!

Erm, these days I don't have any hearts to go out as often as I did. Most of my outstation friend are not available. Most of them are buzy preparing for their Christmas. I wonder why I have so many outstation friends...

Trying to post about lonelyness, I found out (while image-surfing with Cooliris) that there are more lonely guys out there who seems to have sadder days than me. At least, I still have the energy and hope to find someone. Isk

Second-Day

SECOND day since my parents and my sister flew to Kedah for vacation. Only me and my brother stayed home - as unofficial guard-dogs.

Erm, "Line clear!", my mind keeps ringing. Now I have to wait for my brother to has his occasionally impulsive urge to go outstation. eheheh.

Bored to death yesterday evening, I decided to drive abah's kancil to town, alone. Huh, boleh la... I managed to start a queue from my home to town and vice versa, twice.

This afternoon, with a brave heart (or maybe idiot) I dared Ah Siong to show me his tattoo. As a Reposeser, most people find him as a threatening person. But, once you know him, you will find that this fellow is a gentle tiger with a cute face,... as long as you don't cross the line. I'll reach that line soon.

After deliberately said that I adore his tattoo (hik), he took off his shirt in front of me and allowed me to took a snap (his pict of course, ehehe). Even his friend cum assistant was surprised, whispered me that I must be lucky today because his boss today must be in a good mood.

Tasik Permai

ON the way home today, I stopped by at Tasek Permai, just a five minutes away before my home. The time was already 1830hrs and they are nobody around, except for some boys who are still playing street soccer.

Literally translated as 'Lake of Serinity', this lake is quite calm today. Usually, especially on weekends, this place is buzzed with older men playing remote control mini boats. The sound of these bigboys' toys is deafening to me.

At night, this place is an ideal place for lovebirds who need some private time together. Ehehehe... Get a room!

"Just like the use of paper in web design, the use of doodles and hand drawn illustrations give an informal, friendly and accessible value to the website as well as giving a fantastic visual addition to the design," the author of Blog.SpoonGraphics explained.

My favorite is the blog design from bootb.com. Just click at the link on How it Works. Cool!

I Hate Saturday

SATURDAY is the day I really hate. Ever since my schooldays, this day is nothing but a boring day for me. Heh, the only TV shows that aired every Saturday then was the Hindustan or Tamil movies. Enough is enough!

@mail01
My off day on Saturday is quite boring. Deprived of my sleep during weekdays (and nights), I tried to catch-up my sleep debt on Saturday. But seems to be interrupted by my mom who always have the energy to nag me every hour. Isk. Not to mention the habit of her listening to the radio all day long in the maximum volume mode. Argghhhh.

On this weekend night, it seems that I have a very limited time to enjoy myself, since I have to go to work on Sunday as well. Good thing I work half day only on Sundays. Good, as I will have lots of time to hang around in town. (Syyy... My family thinks that I work full day on Sundays, ehehe)

And I have to continue my driving class tomorrow... at 0730 hrs. I passed my Pre-test on last Thursday. Cannot wait for my official Driving Test on Wednesday.

By the way,.. I hate Saturday.

Nyeh... no idea! (suei)

@upin01 KINDA a suei (chinese: unlucky) day for me today with a particular motorbike that I have to drove to Puspakom - a new blue colour Honda Wave 100. Isk

@upin02 It even don't have enough fuel to be ridden to the Petrol Station. Stuck in the midway, in the middle of the day, I had to wait for nearly half an hour just for a friend to push it to the station.

@ipin02 After had it filled for only RM2.00, I continued my journey to Puspakom only to find that the place was already closed for lunch. Alamak!

@ipin01 So I proceed to JPJ and parked it at the JPJ parking space which only designated for the staff. And again, the JPJ's chief (we call him as KC) caught me and held my helmet for ransom. Suei!

@kakros01 Luckly it was Friday, so I just drove back to home without helmet.

ARRRRGGHHHHH!

In the evening, I continued my driving class. Only today that I came accross with the term 3-point turning! ahaks

P.S. Use goggle/yahoo to find what is 3-point turning, k!

Do enjoy this short film:

Meeting Osama's Lost Twin.

THE internet connection at my office was down today, so I rushed to MAA buildings just to issue some cover notes.

In the afternoon, I took the liberty by calling Mr. Ahmad, my friend who works as an officer for EPF. His office is just a block away. We chatted with all out hearts out. And I managed to take some picture of him to be put into my blog, with permission of course.

He then told me to look for videos in youtube and search for ‘Osama lost twin’. Just to share you guys what the video is about… Ahaha.

I told him he has another ‘twin’ who lives near to my home. After mentioning the name, Ahmad then stated that the person IS his real brother. Yikes!

A day in the Market, Dabai Odyssey

Sibu's market, managed by Sibu Municipal Council

AFTER having out first lunch together since Ramadhan with Lim, a friend of mine, I decided to ask Lim to accompany me to the nearby market.

“What for?” he asked. “I don’t like to mingle with so many crowds” he added.

“Then, wait till they build the market by the cemetery…” I answered sinically. Reluctantly, he followed me to the market.

It has been a while since I visit the market. I love to watch people there. I love to see what type of stuff the sold there. I love the open air window-shopping. And I finally found what I came for…

Buah dabai’s (dabai fruit) season has arrived.

This is dabai fruit

One of my long waited delicacies, dabai is black fruit with a large pit (or stone) which we always consumed together with soy sauce or salts during our heavy meals. It was very hard at first, but will eventually soften after being soaked in lukewarm water for at least 15 min.

soaked in lukewarm water

add soy-souce

brpphh! excuse me...

What does it taste like? Erm, get half spoonful of your favorite best margarine, add a pinch of salt and sugar and enjoy! That is the closest taste I can tell you.

Last week dabai was priced at RM 20.00 per kilo, since the availability was limited. Now, you can get it from as RM 8.00 to RM 12.00 per kilo, depending the size and quality. I bought the best I could find at RM 8.00. In earlier time, it was sold in chupak or kong (in small tin can size, if you wonder). Now in kilos.

Not just dabai, I also found a variety of local delicacies today. From buah engkalak (acquired taste), to terap (ever heard of a pantun `buah terap berderap-derap’ and wondered what does it look like?) to the famous ulat mulong (live beetle-worm found in the bark of Sago Palm).

Tried to be brave by putting one of the worms onto my palm. But the facts it wriggle vigorously and can bite make me pass the thought. Ehehe

Come, and visit Sibu... And I will show you more!

natural bath sponge, or for cleaning cookware/plates

buah terap (RM 3.00 each)

Dared to try? Can be fried or eaten raw and alive. Taste as peanut, they said.

The person who sells the mulong

By the way, did I forgot to mentioned about the durians? Erm...
